 This bus service runs between Eyre Square in Galway city centre, and the Parkmore Road industrial estates. Buses on this route travel through, or past GMIT (Dublin Road campus),  Renmore, Mervue, Merlin Park/Woods, Roscam, Roscam, Doughiska and Briar Hill.

Some Bus Éireann systems and publicity materials refer to this as bus-route 409.   Buses, however, are always labelled route 9.
