Public Transport Directions
The 401-Parkmore Industrial bus (called 403-Ballybrit until September 2019), leaves from Eyre Square and travels via College Rd, Wellpark, Mervue shops and Monivea Rd, before going through the heart of Castlepark and then on to Briarhill and Parkmore.
The 405 - Ballybane bus, which comes to from Rahoon. It leaves from Eyre Square, travels via Bohermore, Liosbán / Riverside, New Mervue). Get off when the bus reaches the ATU (ex GMIT) / Ballybane Road stop (ask the driver to tell you when this is). Walk down Ballybane Rd in oppositie direction to where the bus goes.. Turn left into Castlepark. From here, it is:
- 2-3 minutes walk to the John Paul Centre,
- another 2-3 minutes walk to library and day-hosptial, and
- another 2-3 minutes to St Brigid's church and Ballybane Enterprise/Resource Centre.
The 402 - Merlin Park or 409 - Parkmore or 404 - Oranmore bus and get off at ATU (ex GMIT) Dublin Rd campus. (see here for ATU directions). Go to the roundabout, and turn into Ballybane Rd (which goes along the back of ATU). Glasan Student village is the first turn on the right. Castlepark is the second on the right - directions from here are the same as in Option 2 above.
Also, some buses for third level students stop at ATU and / or Glasan village.
